This concrete inground pool with spa in Manly had structural cracks and was in need of a refurbishment. If a pool is not properly designed and engineered, then the likely hood of the shell to crack increases.

Often the first flaw of engineering a pool is the failure to test the soils and engineer the pool based on the soil load-bearing capacity and stability. Soils with a clay content, usually called expansive soils, are one of the more problematic types of soils.

Additionally, poor design of the areas around the pool plays a part in the overall picture; retaining walls and the concrete deck areas around a pool is a perfect example.

The owners of this pool in Manly in Brisbane’s bayside, wanted to refurbish the pool, raise the spa and increase the number of heating provisions.

The owner chose a solar heating system to keep their pool at a comfortable swimming temperature and extend their swimming season.

Solar pool heaters use energy and heat from the sun, so they’re best suited to sunny areas. They’re one of the most economical and environmentally-friendly heating options and when combined with a gas booster, provide the most efficient temperature control, regardless of the sun.

After

The owners were very happy with the stylish waterline tiles, highly efficient cartilage filtration system, new pool lights and raised spa. This project took our team 3 weeks to complete. As seen in this photo, this owner also invested in a Zodiac robotic pool cleaner.

This Zodiac robotic pool cleaner model comes with built-in technology that ensures that it can’t get caught in corners or stuck on steps, this allows it to provide superior cleaning coverage compared to alternative cleaners.
